Sherwood began lunching at The Algonquin. Together they helped define American taste in the arts for about a decade. Perhaps their greatest contribution was the founding of <em>The New Yorker<\/em> magazine. Though society columns referred to them as The Algonquin Round Table, they called themselves the Vicious Circle. Dorothy Parker and her friends were immortalized in 1987 in the Academy Award-winning documentary, <em>The Ten Year Lunch<\/em>. In 1994, the group was once again transported to the big screen in M<em>rs.
