Pulitzer prize-wining author<\/span> E. B. White was probably the most important contributor to the New Yorker,<\/span> at a time when it was arguably the most important literary magazine in the country. He primarily wrote essays, and his columns for Harper’s<\/span> and other magazines were widely read. In the nineteen thirties, at the request of a young relative he began to write fiction. He will probably be best remembered for his enduring children’s classics such as Charlotte’s Web<\/span> and Stuart Little<\/span>.<\/p>\n
